Momed Hokubei - San Diego Branch

MOMED is an idea created by Sachi Takekoshi in Japan. It's a dance-like meditation designed to align yourself. Through simple movements with music, you connect your body, mind, and spirit. It builds self-esteem and more importantly, everyone feels GREAT afterward. While it may resemble dance from the outside, there's no need to follow the music or keep rhythm. The movements, like gestures, harmonize with song lyrics, making them very simple. We feature a diverse selection of songs, encouraging audience participation in our performances. MOMED – San Diego will collaborate with Taiko, performed in traditional Yukata & Happi costumes. This year is the Year of the Dragon, an important symbol in Japanese culture representing a deity and invoking prosperity and ascension. The performance embodies the essence of the dragon, depicting scenarios of luck and fortune akin to the dragon soaring through the skies. Performers and audience unite through simple, energetic movements, creating shared energy that transforms into an updraft, increasing energy levels—a celebration of cultural heritage, emotional depth, and the limitless potential of human connection through movement. With MOMED, we believe we can promote.
