(Onsite) SOUND MEDITATION
Saturdays, monthly 9:00 AM-10:00 AM
Fee: $25 JFGM Members, $30 Non-members (per session)
The healing power of sound has been an important part of human civilizations dating back as long ago as 40,000 years. Sound healing uses therapeutic frequencies to gently balance the body and soothe the mind by lowering brainwaves to the deeply restorative alpha and theta states. When the frequency of the sound synchronizes with the brainwaves, a de-stress response is triggered that provides the listener with feelings of relaxation and tranquility. As vibrations travel through the body they promote energy flow at a cellular level, thus bringing us into a healthier and more harmonious state of being. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket and pillow and/or anything else to be comfortable while laying down.
**Dates might change due to garden festivals
**Please note: due to class popularity, walk-Ins are unavailable and will not be accepted. Thank you for your understanding. For more information on program policies, please click on the link
Instructor: Lindsey Roach
Every 2nd Saturday of the month (Except January)
January 18th | February 8th | March 8th
Lindsey Roach is a sound healing and reiki practitioner with an educational background in Social Work. She fell in love with music and sound at a young age and after witnessing the positive effects of sound healing on her own body and mind as an adult, she felt called to become certified and offer sound medicine to others. One of her favorite details about sound healing is that there’s absolutely no effort involved for anyone to receive its benefits – the recipient gets to comfortably lie down and melt into the vibrations as their body does the transformative work itself. The natural beauty of the Japanese Friendship Garden paired with sound from crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, chimes, gongs, drums and other sound tools will bathe listeners in a rejuvenating, multi-sensory experience.
