EDUCATION THROUGH ART

24 January, 2021 | 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

One of many purposes of a Japanese garden is to make those aware of their surroundings. Both philosophically and intentionally thought out in design, a Japanese garden plays with the observer’s senses and is heavily characterized by symbolism that can be found throughout the garden.

Participants are invited to explore the Japanese Friendship Garden to create illustrations that capture the artists’ experience as they discover key elements of the garden. This in-person art education program is free and open to all skill levels. Participant's art work will be showcased as an exhibit at JFG and will illustrate the "purpose of a Japanese garden."
