Call for artists!
The Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum calls for artists to submit original artwork inspired the garden’s cherry blossom trees. Submissions received will debut at the Cherry Blossom Festival and be on display from March 7, 2025 - April 27, 2025. Submissions are open to local, national, professional, and amateur artists with various mediums allowed.
Timeline
Submission deadline: February 23, 2025 at 11:59PM PST
Acceptance Notification: February 25, 2025
Delivery deadline: March 3, 2025 - March 4, 2025. Artists may drop off submissions at the JFGM front gate admissions booth during public hours.
Exhibition Open: March 7, 2025 - April 27, 2025 (During JFGM public hours)
Deinstallation Pick-Up: April 30, 2025 -May 2, 2025 (From JFGM admission booth between 10AM- 4PM)
REQUIREMENTS
Submissions must not exceed 24in x 36in (including frame). For larger dimensions, please email registrar@niwa.org for consideration.
A submission does not guarantee your artwork will be selected for display. The Exhibit Coordinator will notify you if your submission has been selected.
Art must be ready-to-hang or display
Each submitted piece must be an original that has not been previously shown at JFGM.
Art must be labeled (artist's name, artwork's title, year, medium, size)
Selected work must be printed and framed, matted or mounted, and ready to display. Unframed work will be displayed with clips, which could potentially damage the piece.

Dimensions of artwork
*The JFGM Exhibit Coordinator will notify you of your submission status.
*The above information is required for consideration of having your artwork displayed at JFGM.
*The artist is responsible for all shipping or transportation costs.
*Please note that submissions must be appropriate for all audiences as deemed by JFGM.
