The way of tea is a ceremony of serving tea to the guests while mediating the mind and heart. Japan has two different kinds of the way of tea- one serves matcha green tea and the other serves sencha green tea. Unlike matcha where you whisk green tea powder in a bowl, Sencha is similar to black tea where you serve it through a pot.
In Senchadou, which is the way of Sencha, usually only one type of tea leaf is used. Which is either Sencha or Gyokuro. During each ceremony, guests can enjoy two cups of teas with snack pairs. This is limited to only five guests per session. Don’t miss out!

Masako Kobayashi(aka Seibo Kobayashi)
After Professor Kobayashi came to the USA in the 1970’s, she started learning Senchado. The process of becoming a Senchado student is widely perceived as difficult due to high costs and the time it takes to reach different levels of mastery. Knowing this, she has decided to start her own school to make this craft more accessible to casual learners. The school became an NPO organization in 2016 and it’s been serving the local community for 8 years to introduce Japanese culture.
