An opportunity to experience the monthly demonstration of the traditional Tea Ceremony by Urasenke Tankokai San Diego Association tea instructors. You will learn the history of Tea ceremony and see how to serve tea in a traditional way. Tea tickets will be available at the Exhibit House to try Japanese traditional macha and dry sweet.

You can learn basic Ikebana in our new, “Ikebana Class”. We will have an instructor from Sogetsu School, who will teach you a basic flower arrangement each week. You may bring Kenzan, shallow container, scissors, pitcher or an empty water bottle, flowers and branches, trash bag, paper towel, plastic or glass bowl to trim branches and flowers. Bushido: Why the Code of the Samurai Matters Today. Come and learn about the "Way of the Warrior" and how this ancient Japanese code of conduct is important in modern times. Bushido is defined as a unique philosophy that spread through the Muromachi period. It is the code of moral principles as which the samurai were required or instructed to observe, which was frequently unuttered and unwritten. It is typified by the Seven Virtures: Rectitude, Courage, Benevolence, Respect, Honesty, Honor and Loyalty.
